New Hampshire Knights Elect Officers

At the 111th Annual Meeting of the New Hampshire State Council of the Knights of Columbus held over the April 30, May 2 weekend at the Radisson in Nashua, new officers were elected  These officers were elected from delegates representing over 7,500 Catholic families in New Hampshire.  These 5 men will lead the Catholic, family, fraternal organization in the Granite State through the next year.

Elected the Chief Executive Officer of the New Hampshire branch of the international fraternal order was Ed McCann of Merrimack.  Also elected as supporting staff were Warden - Wayne Griffin of Windham; Advocate - Hon. Jordan Ulery of Hudson; Treasurer – Richard McDermott of Nashua; Secretary – Joel Plante of Farmington.  Welcoming this coming fraternal year’s officers was the Bishop of Manchester and Brother Knight, John McCormack.

In 2009 the Knights raised over $97,000.00 that was donated to worthy and charitable causes across the Granite State.  Money from the ubiquitous yellow cans of the Tootsie Roll drive was distributed to Special Olympics of New Hampshire, Cedar Crest, Rainbow Theater, Ministries for People with Disabilities, NH Family Support Center and Community Bridges.  This does not include the local council charitable and service programs operated in your home town.  The Knights also actively and enthusiastically support pro-life organizations with advertising and real support to women with unexpected pregnancies through several real women’s health organizations including Carenet Pregnancy Center and Birth Right of New Hampshire.

In addition, local Councils made significant contributions to the growing rolls of seminarians (men discerning a vocation in the priesthood) and postulants (women discerning a vocation with a Religious Order) in New Hampshire.  The ever larger numbers of men and women turning to vocations in this all too secular world is assisted financially, practically and with the prayers of the thousands of Knights in New Hampshire.  For more information about the Knights in New Hampshire please visit .
