NHDP Chair applauds Senator's years of service and commitment to improving the state of New Hampshire
Concord - New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement about Senator Kathy Sgamabti's decision to retire at the end of her current term.
"Senator Sgambati has been a strong voice for New Hampshire's working families. In the midst of one of the worst economic recessions in history, she helped start and expand innovative programs like Healthy Kids and HealthFirst, while at the same time ensuring we kept the state's budget balanced.
"Throughout her decades of service as a top official of the state Department of Health and Human Services and her four years in office, Senator Sgambati was a tireless advocate for children, seniors and all of our state's most vulnerable citizens. Her insightful approach and years of experience will be deeply missed on the Senate's Health and Human Services Committee, which she chaired. In 2008, Senator Sgambati was named "Legislator of the Year" for her leadership on health care issues.
"I want to thank Senator Sgamabti for her service to the state of New Hampshire and to the voters of the 4th District."
