SHARE THIS INFO WITH YOUR FAVORITE SINGER!! OPEN TO EVERYONE AGE 15+. www.keeneonline.com/idol
If it’s summer in Keene, then it’s time for the Keene Karaoke IDOL! Amateur Competition, benefiting AIDS Services for the Monadnock Region (ASMR).
The age limit has been dropped to 15 in order to provide a performance opportunity for younger singers. For the purposes of this event, “amateur” is defined as a person who engages in performing karaoke as a hobby rather than as a sole profession.
Auditions will be held in the Colorado Pub at the Best Western Sovereign Hotel, Winchester Street in Keene, NH on Tuesday, June 1 and Tuesday, June 15 at 7p. Pre-registration is urged, but will be accepted at the door beginning at 6:00p. Payment of non-refundable $40 registration fee guarantees one chance to audition and can be paid with VISA or Master Card by calling 603-357-6855. Contestants may audition on both nights, with the higher score counting toward finalist consideration, and bring their own music.
Contestant pool will be narrowed to 25 finalists who will advance to the elimination rounds. Notification of finalists will occur by noon on June 16. The event runs for four consecutive weeks: July 9, 16, 23 and finale on June 30. Contestants must be able to participate each week of competition if successful.
DJ Jay Hosmer of Karaoke Idol USA will spin tunes for Idol auditions and event. Ted McGreer, Steve Pro and Jared Goodell will judge auditions. Audience members vote at each elimination round to choose the $250 Audience Favorite Award. Grand prize $1000, second prize $750, third prize $500.
