Concord - New Hampshire Democratic Party chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement applauding the slate of strong Democratic candidates who officially filed with the Secretary of State's Office this week.
"New Hampshire Democrats have an historic slate of extraordinary Democratic candidates running across the Granite State. Be it Governor John Lynch, Congressman Paul Hodes, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, and Katrina Swett and Ann McLane Kuster in the second congressional district, or our great candidates for the State House, Senate, Executive Council and county office, New Hampshire Democrats are in a strong position to maintain our majority status in November.
"Once all of the candidates are listed as officially filed, New Hampshire Democrats will have more candidates for office at all levels of government than ever before. And that is a tremendous accomplishment given the historic elections of 2006 and 2008, and the great people we elected in both of those years.
"On this year's ballot, New Hampshire voters will find a diverse group of small business owners, veterans, environmentalists, doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers, and community leaders running on the Democratic ticket. All of these individuals are committed to building on the progress made over the last several years, and continuing the work of moving New Hampshire forward. The New Hampshire Democratic Party's candidates are truly representative of the voters who live in our great state."
