CITGO Petroleum is providing charities across the country the chance to win a year’s supply of gas through the 2010 Fueling Good campaign. From June 1 to July 15, charities and community groups are invited to tell their story of how they make a difference in the lives of others at www.FuelingGood.com. Beginning July 16, the public will vote for the program they think is doing the most good, with the top three charities winning a share of $5,000. With each vote, individuals will also be entered to win up to $2,500 in CITGO gift cards so supporters have even more incentive to vote.
We hope you will take the time to join our network and help spread the word about our campaign to organizations you believe would be excellent representatives of what we stand for here at Fueling Good. Please visit www.FuelingGood.com to join and learn more about how CITGO makes an impact on charity and community programs across the country. Last year, more than 30 charities, community groups, and individuals were recognized as part of Fueling Good, and we hope to have an opportunity to support your programs in this year’s campaign.

THE CITGO FUELING GOOD CAMPAIGN RECOGNIZES AND
REWARDS LOCAL CHARITIES
Charities and Consumers Can Win CITGO Gift Cards
Houston – June 1, 2010 – CITGO Petroleum Corporation is launching its 2010 Fueling Good campaign on June 1 to recognize and reward charities and individuals making a difference in the lives of others. Charities, community groups, and individuals can join Fueling Good and submit their entries at www.FuelingGood.com for an opportunity to win up to $2,500 in CITGO Gift Cards, either for doing good in their local communities, or for recognizing local charities that are helping others.
“Fueling Good is more than just a promotion,” said Gustavo Velásquez, vice president supply and marketing with CITGO Petroleum. “It has become a core philosophy that extends throughout the corporation and into our network of local Marketers and Retailers. It encourages everyone to make a positive impact in their local communities. We have seen time and time again how one person can make a huge difference in the lives of others. This is particularly evident when you consider the good works being done by CITGO Marketers and Retailers in their own neighborhoods. With the evolution of Fueling Good, we also provide a way for consumers to drive their own Fueling Good initiatives.”
CITGO developed and launched Fueling Good last year and, by the end of the promotion, rewarded seven charities with a year’s supply of gasoline. Winning charities included Bess the Book Bus in Orlando, Fla., a non-profit organization providing free books to kids; The Night Ministry in Chicago, Ill., providing medical screening and support to the homeless; and the Children’s Volunteer Health Network, a team of volunteer dental professionals in northern Florida that provide free dental checkups to needy children.
The 2010 Fueling Good campaign adds a “Get & Give” component which offers consumers a chance to win CITGO Gift Cards as they vote for charities that best illustrate “doing good.” Charities and community organizations are encouraged to join Fueling Good at www.FuelingGood.com and submit their story for a chance to win CITGO Gift Cards. While on the website, these organizations will have access to useful tools that will help them support and market their programs and engage with a broader audience. Charities can submit their stories through July 15.
From July 16 through Aug. 30, consumers will be invited to vote once per day for the charity they think is doing the most good. With each vote, consumers will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes to win a share of $5,000 in CITGO Gift Cards. There will also be daily instant-win prizes available at www.FuelingGood.com.
“We received tremendous positive feedback from last year’s Fueling Good campaign, both from people who voted and nominated charities and from the charities that won. Because we felt it was important to enhance this year’s program,” continued Velásquez, “we added the ‘Get & Give’ twist. Not only do individuals have the power to choose which of the participating charities from Fueling Good can win, but they are also entered for their own chance to win every time they vote. We hope that this will give participating charities and organizations even more exposure so that they can expand their reach and make a greater impact on the lives of the people they serve.”
All CITGO employees at the refineries, lubricants blending plants, terminals, and corporate office, as well as the employees and operators of the nearly 7,000 locally owned CITGO gasoline stations and fast lubes across the country, are dedicated to the spirit of Fueling Good. The program is aligned with the social development principles of the CITGO shareholder, Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and is further supported by the independent CITGO Marketers and Retailers in their local communities.
