Good afternoon –
I wanted to ensure that you saw the following story confirming that Illinois Democrat Senate hopeful Alexi Giannoulias “was in Canada over the weekend” attending “a conference of trial lawyers.”
Notably, Congressman Paul Hodes was also listed along with Giannoulias as a recipient of the trial lawyers’ proceeds this weekend in Canada. Please see below to read the NRSC’s statement questioning Hodes’ whereabouts.
Now that Giannoulias has confirmed his attendance, when will Paul Hodes come clean?

U.S. Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias was in Canada over the weekend -- apparently in a bid for campaign funds.
Mr. Giannoulias is confirming that he stopped by a conference of trial lawyers in Vancouver on Sunday evening "on the way to a short West Coast fund-raising swing."
A spokeswoman said most of those in the lawyers' group are Americans, and the group just happens to be holding this year's annual meeting north of the border. Mr. Giannoulias "just stopped by for a couple of meetings," said the spokeswoman, promising to get back with more information later.
GOP campaign officials -- who sent out an email asking if Mr. Giannoulias was a the conference and its Committee for a Better Future fund-raiser -- say that trial lawyers are a main factor in blocking tort reform that particularly hurts job-creating small businesses.
Team Giannoulias' reply: "Both candidates are raising money from lawyers."
I'll let you know more when I get more.
