Report finds that the Recovery Act is Already Responsible for About 3 million Jobs
CONCORD – Tim Arsenault, Organizing for America (OFA)-New Hampshire Director, issued the following statement regarding Vice President Joe Biden and Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers Christina Romer unveiling the Council of Economic Advisers’ latest quarterly report on the economic impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA):
“Today Vice President Biden and the White House Council of Economic Advisers released a report that confirms what many of us already knew—the Recovery Act brought our economy back from the brink of another Great Depression and according to today’s report the Recovery Act can be credited with creating or saving about 3 million jobs. The Recovery Act is well on its way to meeting the 3.5 million jobs benchmark by the end of the year.
“President Obama and Democrats in Congress have been hard at work implementing policies to improve the lives of middle class families and get Americans back to work. And as a result of those policies, the economy has added private sector jobs for the last six months.
“We’re still not out of the woods yet, and the Obama Administration will not rest until every American who wants a job has one. Here in New Hampshire, Organizing for America volunteers and supporters remain committed to working in support of President Obama and his allies who continue to fight to improve the economy.”
