Crooked Still tonight. Steve Earle this Sunday.
It's one of those "do not miss" kind of events.
Join us at Prescott Park tonight (7pm) for our River House Restaurant concert with CROOKED STILL. This hot, adventurous young group are the purveyors of the nu-folk, bluegrass movement.
The unlikely combination of banjo, cello, and double-bass drives this low lonesome band, whose capitvating vocals and high-wire solos have enraptured audiences across the globe since 2001.
You will not be disappointed.
THEN, this Sunday, it's a one-of-a-kind FOLK FESTIVAL with an exceptional array of performers from Zyedco King C.J. Chenier & The Red Hot Louisiana Band to Canadian Fiddle Champ April Verch, the bold new stringband Joy Kills Sorrow to our very own Elsa Cross, anchored by none other than STEVE EARLE himself.
Learn more about the festival here.
With a brand new Grammy Award (his 3rd consecutive), Steve Earle is a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs recorded by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, and countless others. There are none other like him, and it's an honor to have him take our FairPoint stage.
And, if you like to dance, CJ Chenier will have you on your feet as he "attacks the accordion with the tension and drive of James Brown...creating contemporary, turbo-charged dance music" (Boston Globe). His music is filled with infectious energy and is guaranteed to make you want to fire up some gumbo and dance the night away.
Add a driving fiddle player with dynamic, high-energy step-dancing (April Verch) and the rockabilly sounds of Elsa Cross, combined with the fact that it's all offered at a mere suggested donation of $8, and you have an event not to be missed.
Come experience music at its finest!
Enjoy the show in style and comfort by reserving a spot on our brand new seating deck through our website, www.prescottpark.org, (limited spots remain).
See you in the park,
