Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today voted to pass several pieces of legislation to increase American manufacturing and to create new American jobs. The National Manufacturing Strategy Act (H.R. 4692), the Clean Energy Technology Manufacturing and Export Assistance Act (H.R. 5156), and the End the Trade Deficit Act (H.R. 1875) call for a national manufacturing strategy, promote clean energy technology, and establish a commission to tackle the U.S. trade deficit.
“The ‘Make it in America’ labels need to make a comeback,” said Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter. “These bills will help grow our economy and make investments in American workers and American products while addressing our trade deficit.”
Congresswoman Shea-Porter is a member of the House Trade Working Group, which seeks to increase U.S. exports and encourage fair trade.
