A longtime ago, a band of brave Americans came together and conceived a nation that would be "...of the people, by the people, and for the people." Our founding fathers fought and died so that all future generations would live in a land where men are free.
Today, we continue that fight, for ourselves and for our children.
As we celebrate the 234th birthday of our great nation, I want to thank, in a very personal way, the courageous Americans who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, to protect and defend our families here at home. As the mom of five children living in the freest nation in the world, I am profoundly grateful for their service, sacrifice and honorable dedication.
We live in the greatest nation on earth - America is a land of grand dreams and extraordinary accomplishments. The American tradition of unlimited opportunity for all is the result of a Freedom that was conceived in the hearts of our founding fathers and preserved by the sacrifice of so many who came after them.
As we enjoy the parades and celebrations this weekend, I hope you will join me in a renewed dedication in each one of us doing our part to protect and preserve the Freedom that is uniquely American and so clearly defines us as a people. God Bless America
