Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Office of Medicaid Business and Policy (OMBP) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) seeking information on innovative, viable and sustainable strategies to improve the administrative and operational components of the current Fee for Service Medicaid dental program while assuring quality of comprehensive dental care consistent with a healthy home concept for children participating in Medicaid Programs.
OMBP is releasing this RFI in order to:
1. Gather input and suggestions that allow NH Medicaid to assess the feasibility of transitioning from its current Fee for Service (FFS) program and implementing more efficient and effective approaches to the delivery and financing of dental health care services to its members;
2. Assess stakeholder interest and capacity in participating in such approaches for its current Medicaid population and/or the newly eligible population that is expected to enroll under health care reform (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) in 2014; and
3. Collect suggestions and recommendations that could be used in developing a Request for Proposal (RFP).
Anyone with interest in Medicaid Managed Care is encouraged to respond – respondents might include dental care providers, Managed Care Organizations, health plans, community and statewide organizations, and other interested parties.
OMBP is not focusing on any one-service delivery or financing model. It is actively seeking creative approaches that maintain or improve the quality of care for its Medicaid beneficiaries while better controlling the growth in costs of the NH Medicaid program.
All copies of the RFI will be distributed electronically and can be requested by emailing DentalRFI@dhhs.state.nh.us.
