CONCORD - Today, the New Hampshire Democratic Party released a new web video, "You've Got a Friend in Me," which documents the new-found friendship and emerging political similarities between Sarah Palin and Republican senate candidate Kelly Ayotte. Both Palin and Ayotte have seen their approval ratings plummet in recent months, but that's not the only thing they have in common [Politico, 8/1/10].
"Add plummeting poll numbers to the laundry list of things Sarah Palin and Kelly Ayotte have in common these days," said Emily Browne, Press Secretary for the New Hampshire Democratic Party. "Their extreme-right agenda is clearly failing to impress the majority of middle-class, American families who want elected officials less interested in grabbing headlines and courting the far-right and more interested in getting our economy back on track. Kelly Ayotte and Sarah Palin are two politicians for the far-right wing - not for New Hampshire."
Recent public polling released in New Hampshire shows that Kelly Ayotte's unfavorable ratings have more than doubled over the past few months, her lead over Democratic nominee Paul Hodes has been cut in half, and her approval rating with independent and moderate voters is evaporating. A Quinnipiac poll released recently shows that Sarah Palin's approval ratings with independent voters are equally as dismal, indicating voters are largely rejecting Palin and Ayotte's brand of political extremism.
