AUL Action Releases Legal Memo on Ad Campaign

THE FACT-CHECKERS DON’T HAVE THEIR FACTS
STRAIGHT ON TAXPAYER-FUNDED ABORTION

LEGAL MEMO CLEARLY DEMONSTRATES HEALTH CARE LAW ESTABLISHES LARGEST EXPANSION OF TAXPAYER-FUNDED ABORTION EVER

Washington, DC – (9-10-10) – This week, the Associated Press released an inaccurate assessment of the facts contained in the Americans United for Life Action “Life Counts” Ad campaign that holds representatives accountable for voting in support of taxpayer-funded abortion as established in the new health care law.

The first error appears in the AP story timeline, which claims that President Obama signed an executive order on taxpayer-funded abortion before the health care bill was passed in Congress.

It passed on March 21, 2010 and President Obama actually signed his executive order on March 24, 2010 - three days later.

But that error was only the first problem with an analysis that overlooked how the health care law allows for taxpayer-funded abortion.

Abortion advocates have undertaken an effective misinformation campaign since the health care law’s passage that has created confusion for those attempting to objectively examine this issue. The following legal memo from the Americans United for Life Action legal team clearly demonstrates that health care reform has in fact established the largest expansion of taxpayer-funded abortion ever.
