Concord - New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement on Charlie Bass's defeat of Jennifer Horn and Bob Guida in the Republican primary in the second Congressional district.
"Charlie Bass has a long record of irresponsible votes stemming from his more than a decade in Washington D.C. as a Congressman and insider. And the voters of the second district have an equally long list of reasons why they won't be supporting him in November.
"The process of constantly reinventing himself to catch the political winds has left Charlie with a 30 year record of fringe stances since his first failed campaign in 1980. This year he has claimed the mantle of the Tea Party and all of their extreme out of touch positions.
"Charlie has called for a discussion to repeal the 14th amendment, which grants American citizenship to any child born in our country. He supports privatizing Social Security and re-opening the Medicare Part D 'donut hole.' These are not the views held by New Hampshire voters, and this November they will reject him just like they did four years ago."
