NHDP Chair Ray Buckley on Kelly Ayotte Surviving the GOP Senate Primary

Concord - New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement on Kelly Ayotte's defeat of Ovide Lamontagne, Bill Binnie, and Jim Bender in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.

"Throughout this campaign, Kelly Ayotte has proven that she would not stand up for the people of New Hampshire.  She has made clear that she is out of touch with Granite State values, and that in the Senate she would be a rubber stamp for her Republican Party handlers, the Washington insiders financing her campaign, and Sarah Palin.

"In addition to opposing every single piece of legislation designed to create jobs and rebuild economy proposed this year, Kelly has continually altered her positions to fall in line with the radical fringe of the national Republican Party.  She has flip-flopped in numerous key issues including, stating that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act shouldn't have been passed after eagerly using the funds as Attorney General, and falsely claiming that global warming isn't real after acknowledging the threat it posed just one year ago.

"The simple truth is that New Hampshire voters can't trust her to represent them in the United States Senate."
