(Washington – January 9, 2011) Rep. Frank Guinta (NH-01) released the following statement on Saturday’s shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords:
“Our nation is united today in praying for the full recovery of Representative Giffords and the others injured in this terrible attack. Our hearts go out to the families of those who died so needlessly Saturday morning. At this moment there are no Republicans, there are no Democrats; only Americans united in grieving those who were lost and asking God’s healing blessing for those who were wounded.
“Although I did not meet Congresswoman Giffords during our first week serving together in the 112th Congress, her office is located two floors below mine and I share the same sense of outrage and sorrow all House Members feel over the attempt on her life."
“It is important to remember that Saturday’s attack was a crime. I am confident the person who caused this senseless tragedy will eventually receive the fullest punishment our justice system allows.”
