House Republicans' - Jobs

In a recent report by the New Hampshire Department of Employment Security, it was announced that the state’s unemployment rate increased in December of 2010 from 5.4% to 5.5%; House Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt offered the following remarks:

"I am disheartened by the recent Department of Employment Security report that New Hampshire’s unemployment rate rose in December and their finding that we are ‘apt to see a stagnant rate for some time,’ rather than a decreasing rate. These findings once again highlight the need for fiscal policies that promote economic growth and foster an environment for our business community to grow and thrive. Our Republican majority is fully committed to do whatever is necessary and responsible to return our economy to sound fiscal footing. At a time when our citizens are struggling, the Democrats are doing all they can to distract from their mismanagement and destructive policies of the past four years that stifled growth. The Republican majority is dedicated to working hard for the families and small businesses of our state, getting citizens back to work, and preserving the New Hampshire Advantage."
