NH DHHS Receives $439,000 High Performance Award

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services

(DHHS) will be awarded a High Performance Bonus Award of nearly half a

million dollars on Monday, November 7, 2011. The United States Department

of Agriculture (USDA) is recognizing DHHS’ Division of Family Assistance

(DFA) for improving access to its Food Stamp Program (FSP). The award is

for Most Improved Program Access Index (PAI) for fiscal year 2010. The PAI

indicates the degree to which low-income people have access to FS benefits.

This is the second year New Hampshire has been recognized in this area.

USDA Food and Nutrition Services Northeast Regional Administrator James

Arena-DeRosa will present DHHS Commissioner Nicholas Toumpas and DFA staff

members with the award at 10 AM at DHHS’ Brown Building, 129 Pleasant

Street in Concord. There are currently more than 54,000 households

participating in the Food Stamp Program in New Hampshire.
