Statement from Jon Huntsman on Payroll Tax Cut Stalemate
Manchester- Jon Huntsman issued the following statement on the stalemate in the payroll tax cut negotiations.
"Americans have lost trust in Washington because we have a President who has failed to lead and a Congress that is broken. Congress and the President should hammer out a deal before the end of the year that extends the payroll tax cut for 1 year and makes substantive steps toward broad-based tax reform.
"The President missed a golden opportunity to pass bipartisan tax and spending reform when he threw his own deficit commission's report in the trash. Now is the time for real leadership on taxes not more grandstanding."
