NRSC - Our Fight Begins

Can you guess who said this?

“If a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house.”

Incredibly, that was Barack Obama…when he was a candidate.  It’s a quote Judge Vinson cited in ruling Obamacare unconstitutional.

Emphasizing the principles of limited government our constitution is meant to enshrine, Judge Vinson’s ruling compares Obamacare’s overreach to the governmental excesses that led to the Boston Tea Party:

"It is difficult to imagine that a nation which began, at least in part, as the result of opposition to a British mandate giving the East India Company a monopoly and imposing a nominal tax on all tea sold in America would have set out to create a government with the power to force people to buy tea in the first place."

This is a big victory in the fight to stop Obamacare, but it’s going to take continued pressure from Americans like you to force repeal.

Now we must finish the job.

“If a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house.”

Again, that quote came from Barack Obama during his 2008 campaign, misleading the American people into believing he would defend the Constitution. Instead, he and the Democrats ignored the American people and enacted one of the largest expansions of government in our history.  They seem to know Obamacare is unconstitutional, and simply don’t care.   It’s going to take all of us working together to remind Democratic Senators what’s at stake in 2012 if they vote against repeal.

Republican Senators even brought a bill to the floor yesterday calling for a full repeal of Obamacare, but Harry Reid and his loyal liberal followers defeated it.  Once again, the Democrats defied the will of the American people, and proved that only our hard work getting Republican Senators elected can make the difference in repealing Obamacare.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee is doing everything we can to repeal the bill, but your help makes the difference. Will you join us by calling your Senators, volunteering, or financially supporting our efforts at

P.S. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is investing all resources at our disposal to force repeal. This includes launching ads targeting Senators to vote “Yes” on repeal. We hope you will help us launch these aggressive ads by contributing $25, $50, $100, or $500 to our efforts.
