Pension Reform Legislation Passes the Senate
SB 3, a bill to modify the current public pension system, passed the N.H. State Senate yesterday on a straight party line vote 19 in favor and 5 opposed. Some of the most significant provisions of this legislation include: increasing the retirement age for state employees, limiting the maximum retirement pension as to not exceed total annual compensation and factoring pensions based on the last five years earning as opposed to the three highest years. This legislation is a significant step in the right direction. I commend Senator Bradley for his leadership in spearheading this effort. Please call the Senate and thank the Senators that voted for this important reform. Click here to find your State Senator.
