Activist of the Month - Connie Sadowski

Connie Sadowski is a wife and mother of four children in public elementary, middle, and high schools in Austin, Texas. She does consulting work for a private voucher program the Austin Children's Educational Opportunities Foundation. She is also contributing editor for Heartland Institute's School Reform News. She volunteers on executive committees for Austin Independent School District's Community Action Committees to advise and influence district administrators and is a surrogate for children in special education and in residential group homes for the Texas Education Agency.

Connie has also been extremely active with Americans for Prosperity. Connie is especially drawn to AFP's education initiatives for expanded school choice and cutting excessive spending in K-12 education. The Red Apple Project, a recent project launched by AFP-Texas, has been one of Connie's passions. She helped to prepare roughly 500 school district snapshots that are used to provide information to fellow activists. She has personally called and followed up with hundreds of petition signers and encouraged them to continue taking action. She attends AFP events, and continues to take a more active role in the free-market movement.
