Final market of the Indoor Farmers’ Market season, April 23rd in Exeter
Spring is here and the outdoor farmers' market season will be here soon. Until then, take full advantage of the last Seacoast Eat Local indoor farmers' market of the season and bring home all the luscious local food available, just in time for Earth Day and the Easter holiday.
On Saturday, April 23, 2011, over 40 farmers and food producers will be at the Exeter High School, Exeter, NH, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., selling their vegetables, meats, cheeses, milk, eggs, prepared foods, baked goods, honey, and maple syrup. You can find a full list of participating farmers and the products they will be selling at www.seacoasteatlocal.org.
Early spring brings healthy fresh greens of a wide variety. You’ll find spinach, lettuce, Swiss chard, bok choy, kale, scallions, fresh herbs, salad and mesclun mixes, arugula, beet greens, and more vegetables all grown by area farmers. From grass-fed beef and heritage poultry to holiday roasts of lamb or ham, the market provides one-stop shopping for all the foods you'll need to make a special family meal. Farmers will have an abundance of eggs, milk, and cheeses as well as honey, maple syrup, baked goods, and prepared foods made from locally grown ingredients. Purchasing locally grown food directly from area growers helps ensure area farms stay in business - keeping open space and good food growing in the seacoast.

Get Your Garden Started
In addition to fresh foods, farmers will have early season seedlings for gardeners. Spring flowers, herbs, and fresh vegetable starts will be for sale from farmers with experience growing the varieties they are offering. There will also be seeds for sale from High Mowing Organic Seeds of Vermont.
Share the harvest
The St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry will be on hand to accept food donations from consumers and vendors on behalf of those in need on Saturday. Fresh foods are encouraged; consider buying extra potatoes, lettuce, or eggs to donate so that all may share in our bounty of local foods. Donations of cash or canned foods are also welcome.
