CONCORD, NH – On Friday, April 29, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) will hold a press conference with New Hampshire veteran and military organizations to announce the introduction of legislation to preserve dignity at military funerals and allow families to grieve in peace (the Sanctity of Eternal Rest for Veterans (SERVE) Act, H.R. 1591).
Bass will be joined by the Commander of the New Hampshire Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Dave Ouellette, Chairman of the State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs Committee in the New Hampshire House of Representatives Al Baldasaro (R-Londonderry), Gold Star Mother Jean Durgin (new addition), Blue Star Mother Susan Peterson, former State Senator Bob Letourneau, and other members of New Hampshire veteran organizations, including the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and Patriot Guard Riders.
The press conference will take place at the Legislative Office Building, located at 33 North State Street in Concord. Members of the media are welcome to attend.
