WASHINGTON – Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) reiterated his opposition to a government shutdown today, saying this is no way to operate the government and does not accomplish our larger goals of getting spending under control and reducing the deficit.
His office also released the following statement about a potential government shutdown.
Stephanie DuBois, the Communications Director for Bass, said:
“Congressman Bass will donate his salary for the time federal employees, including our troops, are not compensated to a New Hampshire charity. Congressman Bass feels that if federal employees are not going to receive their pay during a shutdown, Members of Congress shouldn’t either.”
