“The people’s mandate to return spending to sane limits will be honored – and I’ll keep working to make it happen.”
(Washington – April 8, 2011) Rep. Frank Guinta (NH-01) released the following statement:
“I’m grateful the short-tem stopgap spending bill deal we agreed to late tonight will keep the government open for a few more days. I’m also grateful we have time to fine-tune details for a final Continuing Resolution to fund the government through September 30th. Job creators in the Granite State are looking to Washington for predictability and fiscal stability from Washington to help them expand and hire more workers, and it’s our duty to give it to them.
“But Americans are tired of managing our country’s finances this way. I’m certainly out of patience with putting short-term Band-Aids on the funding problem. This is no way for the world’s most powerful country with the world’s leading economy to fund its government.
“We House Republicans are staying true to our principles, and insisting that still more cuts in federal spending be made. I wish the pace was faster, but we’re not letting Harry Reid’s obstinacy stand in our way. The people’s mandate to return spending to sane limits will be honored – and I’ll keep working to make it happen.”
