New Hampshire- Former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today released the following statement regarding the introduction of The Veterans Health Equity Act in the U.S. Senate.
“I am very pleased to see Senator Shaheen and Senator Ayotte re-introduce The Veterans Health Equity Act today. I first introduced this bill in the 110th Congress and then reintroduced it in the first days of the 111th Congress. New Hampshire is the only state that does not have a full service VA hospital or comparable services through a military facility. It is appalling that many of our oldest and sickest veterans have been forced to travel out of state for acute inpatient hospital care. I am delighted to see the two Senators working together in a nonpartisan manner to support our New Hampshire veterans and, as the wife of a veteran, I thank them both. ”
