FEATURE: The CEI Annual Dinner is Less Than Two Weeks Away!

Thanks to our generous donors, we are just $24,000 short of our $500,000 fundraising goal for the 2011 CEI Dinner. There’s still an opportunity to see Daniel Hannan give a rip-roaring speech, meet the CEI staff, and attend one of Washington’s most engaging events.

You can find out more about the dinner, including sponsorship and ticket purchasing opportunities here or contact Al Canata, Manager of Donor Relations at acanata@cei.org or 202-331-2280.

May 26, 2011: President

Obama Proposes Deregulation

Cass Sunstein, President Obama’s regulatory czar, announced today that the administration intends to repeal regulations from 30 different agencies. CEI Vice President for Strategy Iain Murray thinks this is a good step, though a small one. He estimates today’s proposal would save about

$1.5 billion, which is one-tenth of

one percent of the $1.75 trillion total burden of federal regulation.
