US Congressman Frank Guinta statement on April's 9% unemployment rate

“Washington’s inability to get its fiscal act together is leaving job creators in limbo, and people are hurting because of it.”

(Washington – May 6, 2011)    Rep. Frank Guinta (NH-01) released the following statement on April’s 9.0% unemployment rate:

“This is a fresh reminder that unemployment remains painfully, unacceptably high.  April’s two-tenths of a percent increase is especially discouraging news for the long-term employed, the under-employed and college seniors who will be graduating and entering the work force soon.  These new figures confirm a basic fact: Washington’s inability to get its fiscal act together is leaving job creators in limbo, and people are hurting because of it. That’s why I am committed to my ongoing “Getting Granite Staters Back to Work” jobs initiative, including hosting two job fairs in June.  I will keep doing everything I can until Washington gives job creators the fiscal stability and predictability they need to expand with confidence and hire new employees.”
