AFPNH - RGGI Repeal Success in NH Senate!

Thanks to your continuing support, I am able to report on several AFP-NH success stories from the last week.

First, as you may know, thanks to your efforts, the New Hampshire Senate voted last week to repeal RGGI! After months of hard work, the fight to pull the plug on this failed cap-and-trade scheme is almost over. As expected, Governor Lynch has promised to veto the bill. While we have a veto-proof majority in the House, work still remains to be done in the Senate.

The legislature may not be in Session this week, but that does not mean that we should curtail our efforts.

In fact, I need you to contact the members of the New Hampshire Senate listed below and let them know that WHEN Governor Lynch vetoes this bill, you expect them to vote to override his veto and remove New Hampshire from RGGI.

State Senate President Peter Bragdon

Senator Gary Lambert

Senator Russell Prescott

As the most recent Senate vote confirms, our efforts ARE paying off. Please continue to make your opinions on the RGGI repeal known to the Senators listed above!

Secondly, on Monday as a precursor to the GOP Presidential Debate, AFP-NH co-sponsored a panel discussion with the Heritage Foundation and the Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy entitled, “Issues that Matter to Conservative Voters.” I was happy to be joined in the discussion by Charles Arlinghaus, President, Josiah Bartlett Center and Mike Franc, Vice President of Government Studies, The Heritage Foundation.

Third, on Thursday night I was able to speak with about 70 people at the Nashua Republican City Committee meeting. We had a great discussion on a number of issues including the RGGI repeal. I hope to have the opportunity to participate in more of these events across the state. If you would like for me to address your group, I would be honored to do so. Please contact Joy Lutes with the details and we will be happy to set it up!

Finally, to the left you will see our Granite State Gathering section with information on upcoming events in New Hampshire. I hope this helps as you plan for the coming weeks.
