US Rep. Frank Guinta to host Job Fairs in Derry on Mon. 6/20 & in Rochester on Mon. 6/27

These job fairs will bring together Granite Staters who are looking for work and job creators who are looking for employees.”

(WASHINGTON – June 14, 2011)   U.S. Representative Frank Guinta (R, NH-01) is hosting job fairs in Derry and Rochester in the next two weeks.  They are part of Guinta’s ongoing “Getting Granite Staters Back to Work” jobs initiative.

The first job fair will be held on Monday, June 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 West Broadway, in Derry.  The second will be held on Monday, June 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Brady Sullivan Technical Park (ground floor), 35 Industrial Way in Rochester.

The fairs are free to both job seekers and job creators.

“Helping people who are unemployed, or who are underemployed, find a good job is of the utmost importance to me,” Guinta said.  “These job fairs will bring together Granite Staters who are looking for work and job creators who are looking for employees.”

Both job fairs will follow the same schedule:

10 00 a.m. – Greeting.  Welcoming remarks from Congressman Guinta.

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 pm.  Networking and Career Social.  Business owners, prospective employees, sales people and others can meet, mingle and discuss opportunities over light snacks.

2:00 p.m. – Conclusion.  Immediately after the event, Congressman Guinta will sit down with several job seekers and ask them about their experience looking for work.  He will later do the same with job creators.  Guinta will then take the information and stories they share with him and apply it to his legislative duties in Washington.

“The government shouldn’t create jobs; they must come from job creators in the private sector.  The best way to return our country to prosperity is to listen to job creators and job seekers and make sure they get the assistance they want, instead of what Washington thinks they need.  My “Getting Granite Staters Back to Work” jobs initiative is focused on delivering that, and it’s the approach I’m taking to lower unemployment and to help small businesses grow and expand.”
