Prescott Park - Over The Rainbow Picnic: A Day with Dorothy and Friends

PORTSMOUTH, NH - Children ages 3-10 years old and their families are invited to Prescott Park Arts Festival's Over the Rainbow Picnic: A Day with Dorothy and Friends, a fun-filled lunch on Saturday, June 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event celebrates the production of The Wizard of Oz by Prescott Park Arts Festival in partnership with Seacoast Repertory Theatre, which will be presented on the FairPoint Communications MainStage Thursday through Sunday evenings from June 24 until August 21.

Guests will enjoy a picnic lunch from Hebert Brothers Seafood with Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion, along with songs performed by the cast. Also covered in the ticket price are fun activities including a sing-along on stage with the cast, face painting, crafts, games, a "flying monkey toss", and more! Each guest will receive a ticket for expedited entrance to a future performance of The Wizard of Oz in Prescott Park.

"This event is such a hit with kids that it has become an annual event for us," said Ben Anderson, Prescott Park's Executive Director. "Tickets always sell out early, so we recommend purchasing tickets early. The waiting list was so long last year that we considered adding a second event."

Since 1974, Prescott Park Arts Festival has successfully reached over 3.5 million people through more than 10,000 music, theater, dance, and art productions offered at no fixed admission. The 37th season will feature The Wizard of Oz as the festival's signature musical production, a variety of international artists including Arlo Guthrie, Shawn Colvin, and Taj Mahal, as part of the River House Restaurant Concert Series, and several music festivals.
