Washington, D.C. – On Saturday, U. S. Representative Thaddeus G. McCotter (MI) sat down with Governor Mike Huckabee to discuss the increasing danger of raising the nation’s debt ceiling and rocky bipartisan negotiations. Following their discussion, Rep. McCotter teamed up with Gov. Huckabee and The Little Rockers to perform the Rolling Stones cover version of Chuck Berry’s “Let it Rock” (Videos below).

“The Democrats try to stir up dissension amongst Republican Leadership all the time in the rank and file. But we respect Eric (Cantor) and Speaker Boehner very much because we made it clear: we’re not going to raise taxes. And so what they want to do… is raise taxes – they want to tie it into the debt ceiling vote, and we know what that will do to the real working people that we’ve talked about. When you continue to raise taxes, when you continue to massively increase government, you’re crushing the chance for a recovery. And this is what Americans want, so I think that they were right to do it (suspend negotiations), and I think that the White House should finally get the message that we’re not going to make the recession worse, we’re not going to make it harder for people to recover. We want to fix and restructure government starting with the debt ceiling, so that the people can get back to work, so people can move from the jobs that they currently have if they want to go up the ladder of success.”
