Our Cooling Climate

In this provocative briefing, David Archibald will argue that rising carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere will have little effect on global temperatures and that solar cycles play a more important role in causing global temperature variations.  The current Solar Cycle 24 has been slow to develop and very weak.  It resembles the beginning of the Dalton Minimum in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, which was a period of cooler global temperatures.

David Archibald is a Perth, Australia-based scientist working in the fields of oil exploration, medical research, climate science, and energy policy.  He has published a number of papers in the climate science field predicting solar-driven cooling.  He is also the author of a book, The Past and Future of Climate: Why the World is Cooling and Why Carbon Dioxide Won't Make a Detectable Difference.  More recently, he has contributed a chapter on \223The Path to Energy Security\224 in a book titled Energy Security 2.0, published this year by the International Strategic Studies Association.  In the medical field, he is the inventor of a drug targeting benign prostatic hyperplasia.  His climate papers are available on his website at: www.davidarchibald.info.
