Prescott Park presents GREG BROWN

The River House Restaurant Concert Series Presents Greg Brown, Wednesday, July 20

PORTSMOUTH, NH - At 7pm on Wednesday, July 20, Prescott Park Arts Festival and The River House Restaurant Concert Series will present folk legend, singer/songwriter Greg Brown in beautiful Prescott Park. The Iowa native will perform songs from over the past three decades as well as from his new album, Freak Flag. Concerts are open to the public with a suggested donation of $8 - $10.

The Grammy-nominated Brown is a renowned songwriter whose music has been performed by the likes of Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Shawn Colvin. Over a career of more than 24 studio albums, he has built a loyal and devoted fan-base, drawn to Brown's performances not just for his folk rock style, but for his witty banter and one-of-a-kind character.

For Brown's new album, Freak Flag, he has collaborated with Yep Roc Records.  Not only does it highlight some of his original work, but it also features his equally talented family. Brown's wife, Iris Dement, performs on Let the Mystery Be, and his daughter, Pieta Brown, on Remember the Sun.

"I'm thrilled to have Greg Brown come to the park," says Ben Anderson, Executive Director. "He's one of my personal favorites and has long been on my list of performers to bring to the park. It's going to be a great show, and I'm more than a little excited."

Music enthusiasts throughout New England have made Prescott Park a summer travel destination for years, not just to see acclaimed performers but to enjoy late evening sunsets shimmering on Piscataqua River. Greg Brown will be the perfect pairing with this must-visit concert location.
