Gold Success Continues

Recently, National Review Online published an article in which APIA Advisor Jeffrey Bell commented on the success of the Gold Standard 2012 project. APIA participated heavily in the passage of the Utah Sound Money Act, in which gold and silver coins were recognized as legal tender. This success has spearheaded a national effort by Senators DeMint (SC), Lee (UT), and Paul (KY) who introduced The Sound Money Promotion Act. This "bill would eradicate federal capital-gains taxes on gold and silver coins declared legal tender by the feds or by state governments". To continue reading in National Review Online...

NEA Endorses Obama

The National Education Association has endorsed President Obama in the early stages of his 2012 reelection bid. The early endorsement leads many to believe that the union is scared of what may

happen when they lose their powerful clasp over America's children. APP's Preserve Innocence Director Emmett McGroarty recently told The Daily Caller that the endorsement shows how desperate the union is, "I think that they [the NEA] are buying into his [Obama’s] agenda of centralizing education...the gist of what he’s trying to do is push the national standards across the country and, with that, national assessments. Assessments and standards are tools of control.” The weakened union is fighting a losing battle in the public arena, and endorsing Obama's policies will not win the NEA or Obama votes in the 2012 election.
