US Rep. Frank Guinta statement on June's 9.2% unemployment rate

(Washington – July 8, 2011)    Rep. Frank Guinta (NH-01) released the following statement regarding the just-released 9.2% unemployment rate for June:

“June’s unemployment numbers are a sad reminder that the new middle class jobs needed for economic recovery are nowhere in sight.  It is further evidence that the “stimulus” driven spending spree of recent years produced little but deeper debt.  The 18,000 new jobs created last month are nowhere close to the number needed to grow our workforce.  With no clear plan in sight for turning things around, Granite Staters are left asking: “Where are the jobs?”  They won’t return until Congress finally makes major cuts in spending, eases burdensome federal regulations and begins whittling down the federal debt.  Once again, I call on the Democrats and Republicans in the Senate and House to work together and give job creators the stability they need to start hiring again.”
