PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE GARY JOHNSON TO RIDE IN 100-MILE LEADVILLE MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE

August 9, 2011, Santa Fe, NM - Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson will be participating in the Leadville 100 mountain bike race Saturday, August 13. The challenging 100-mile course begins and ends in Leadville, Colorado, elevation 10,200 ft.

An avid skier, adventurer, and bicyclist, Governor Johnson has a number of athletic accomplishments to his name. Currently he has reached four of the highest peaks on all seven continents, including Mt. Everest, gone on to finish the invitation-only Hawaii Iron Man five times and won the Breckenridge 100 mountain bike marathon in his combined age group in 2010.  He has also completed the Bataan Memorial Death March and biked the eight-day Adidas TransAlps challenge in Europe.
