US Rep. Frank Guinta statement on the newly-released July unemployment report

(Washington – August 5, 2011)    Rep. Frank Guinta (NH-01) released the following statement regarding the just-released 9.1% unemployment rate for July:

“I welcome the news that the economy gained 117,000 jobs in July.  Any job growth is encouraging.  But the problem is, we’re not gaining enough jobs to pull us out of the economic doldrums.  That’s because the White House and Senate leadership are still sitting on the sidelines, refusing to join with the House in restoring fiscal responsibility.  We must cut even more spending, limit future spending, and pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to make Washington live within its means.  I again call on the administration and Senate leadership to work with the House so job creators can grow payrolls and get more people working again.”
