Mr. Breitbart, who almost singlehandedly removed Congressman Weiner from office after he lied dozens of times will come to NH and join investigative journalist and filmmaker, James O’Keefe, for what I am sure will be an educational and engaging discussion on the state of the media.
The discussion will take place on Saturday, September 17 from 9:30AM to Noon at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester.
Tickets are only $25/person and can be purchased by going to THIS LINK. Space for this event is very limited so please get your tickets NOW!!
Secondly, congratulations to Bill Morrison of Ossipee who submitted the closest guess to Oscar the AFP-NH moose’s estimated live weight!
For the record, Oscar’s estimated live weight was 1250 pounds and his estimated age was 5 years old. His height is 7 feet at his front shoulders and the width of his antlers is 60 inches, making him the third largest 'Bull' Moose taken in New Hampshire in 1994 both in weight and width of antlers.
Thank you to everyone who submitted their guesses on Oscar’s live weight. We will give out the first clue in our Tracking Oscar Contest next week so please stay tuned!
Third, as Labor Day approaches, it seems appropriate to assess the economic situation in the Granite State.
Earlier this year, the Mercatus Center at George Mason University ranked New Hampshire as the “freest state” in the country based on public policies that affect individual freedoms in the economic, social and personal spheres. Additionally, the state’s unemployment rate for July was 5.2%, below the national average of 9.1%.
While these indicators are positive, we believe there is more to be done. AFP-NH remains committed to removing barriers to economic prosperity for the people of New Hampshire. Most notably this includes working to override Governor Lynch’s vetoes of the state’s Right-to-Work legislation and RGGI withdrawal. Both of these override votes may come up during the upcoming special legislative sessions. Rest assured that we will keep you posted on any action that needs to be taken with regard to these important measures
Finally, please review our Granite State Gatherings section for details on other scheduled events around the Granite state.
Happy Labor Day!
