Carroll County NH GOP Chairman to Resign Post, Support Perry Campaign

Freedom, NH September 19, 2011 -- Maynard Thomson, Chairman of the Carroll County Republican Committee, has announced he is joining the New Hampshire Steering Committee of Texas Governor Rick Perry, who is seeking the Republican nomination for President of the United States.

Party rules require Thomson to resign as County Chairman, in order to support a candidate in the primary.  He is also resigning from the County Committee, in order to devote all his time to Gov. Perry’s campaign.

“Governor Perry has demonstrated he understands the link between government limited to Constitutional norms, and economic growth,” said Thomson.  “And he recognizes the risk that Medicare and Social Security benefits will be unavailable to those who need them, while bleeding the economy dry, unless they’re reformed at once.  He’s a classic, ‘can do’ American; we can’t take any more of the ‘can’t do’ types like President Obama.”

Thomson, a lawyer and novelist, lives in Freedom with his wife, Laura.
