U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta's statement about President Obama's jobs plan

(Washington – September 8, 2011)    Rep. Frank Guinta (NH-01) released the following statement after President Obama’s address to a Joint Session of Congress this evening:

“Americans were looking to the President for leadership and to chart a new path to lower unemployment tonight.  Instead, they got more failed policy and empty eloquence.  We can’t afford to waste hundreds of billions of additional dollars on a second stimulus plan.  Rather than empowering job creators to create an environment that will embolden them to hire new employees, the administration is stubbornly sticking with another round of big spending and hoping it somehow solves the problem.  Granite Staters who can’t find a good, middle-class job deserve better.  It’s time for a new direction.  Government must stop trying to solve this problem on its own, and assist job creators in doing what they do best -- put more people back to work.”
