By Josh McElveen - WMUR News 9 BEDFORD, N.H. -- In four days, caucusgoers in Iowa will cast their votes for the Republican nominee for president, and one candidate believes he's surging at the right time. Rick Santorum has made dozens of visits to Iowa and New Hampshire but typically trailed in polls. But recent polls show him surging to a close third place behind Ron Paul and Mitt Romney.
Santorum credited his recent gains to his grassroots approach. "Unlike any of the other candidates, they got it from some sort of catchy slogan, nice debate performances or because the pundits thought he had a lot of money," Santorum said. "We got it because of the record and because of the vision." Read more: www.WMUR.com
Yesterday a Rasmussen poll confirmed the results of the CNN/Time/Orca poll, that Santorum had risen to third place getting 16% of the vote.
Now a new poll from We Ask America has been released that not only shows Santorum still rising, getting 17% of the vote, but it puts him in second place because Ron Paul has dropped to 3rd. Talk about music to my ears:
