NH GOP - NHGOP BLASTS HASSAN'S PLAN FOR REVENUE ESTIMATING PANEL

Concord, NH- With yesterday's news that the state budget revenue figures were almost identical to target revenue, the New Hampshire Republican State Committee today blasts Maggie Hassan's plan for a Consensus Revenue Estimating Panel. Maggie says that she is for a "fiscally responsible budget," but looking at the '09-'10 budget that she had a hand in, it is obvious to Granite Staters that Maggie can't handle being fiscally responsible.

"We don't need a new bureaucracy in order to do the right thing," said New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Wayne MacDonald. "We must elect leaders who will be responsible, honest, and willing to make the tough decisions. As we saw yesterday, we don't need a superfluous panel to bring accuracy to the budgeting process. Whenever Maggie gets the chance, she can't help herself, she will continue to tax and spend. Last time Maggie Hassan was let anywhere near the budget, revenue was over-estimated by nearly a half-billion dollars in order to continue to fund her out of control spending."
