Gary Johnson Sign-Waving Day, October 17th & 19th
Gary Johnson supporters from coast to coast are invited to the Nationwide Gary Johnson Sign-Waving Day, on Wednesday, October 17th AND Friday, October 19th. Grab your Gary Johnson signs, find a busy street corner in your home town, and wave your support for Liberty!
Now is the time to get as much exposure as we can. We want this to be a huge, coast-to-coast event! Invite your friends, bring food, and have fun! The nationwide Gary Johnson Sign-Waving Day will work as follows:

- Pick a high traffic area, like a downtown street corner at rush hour. Alternately, you can hang homemade banners and signs on highway overpasses.

- Create an event on Facebook to organize a time and place to meet in your area. Try to have a number of locations across your city or state!

- Wave yard signs, posters, any homemade signs you'd like, and make noise, noise, noise!

- Please take pictures of your sign-waving event and share these pictures to social media!
As an added bonus, we ask everyone to email their creative pictures from nationwide Gary Johnson Sign-Waving Day to CampaignTrailPics@GaryJohnson2012.com.
The best, most creative pictures will be used in an official campaign video, and will be shared on Gov. Johnson's social media!

When he was running for the Republican presidential nomination last year, Gary Johnson, the former two-term Republican governor of New Mexico, drew ridicule from mainstream party members as he advocated legalized marijuana and a 43 percent cut in military spending.
Now campaigning as the Libertarian Party’s presidential nominee, Mr. Johnson is still only a blip in the polls. But he is on the ballot in every state except Michigan and Oklahoma, enjoys the support of a few small “super PACs” and is trying to tap into the same grass-roots enthusiasm that helped build Representative Ron Paul a big following. And with polls showing the race between President Obama and Mitt Romney to be tight, Mr. Johnson’s once-fellow Republicans are no longer laughing.

Gary Johnson brought his long-shot Libertarian campaign for president to New Mexico Tuesday, with a rally at the University of New Mexico Tuesday evening and a fundraiser high in the Sandia Mountains foothills earlier in the day.
It was barbecue and bucks at the County Line restaurant on Tramway, a fundraising luncheon for the former two term New Mexico governor.

President Obama has been a failure. On his watch, the American economy has significantly deteriorated largely because he has stifled free market forces by over-regulating them and because he has laden taxpayers with debt.
Those two factors alone -- the federal government increasing the cost of doing business by telling businesses from physicians to major industries how to do their work, and the federal government spending trillions it doesn’t have and pushing the debts onto future generations -- are enough to sink any economy.

Not a day goes by when I get a message from a conservative telling me that I must vote for Mitt Romney, not just because a vote for Gary Johnson (or anyone other than Romney or Obama) would be a wasted vote, but that we must vote for the one guy who has a shot of defeating Obama to save our country. That we absolutely cannot vote for anyone other than Romney, because if Obama gets another four years this country will no longer exist. There’s a reason for this.

Johnson is scheduled to meet Thursday night with with prospective voters at Dupont Circle's new game-themed bar Board Room, explaining how he can -- and why he should -- beat Mitt Romney in the nation's capital.
In advance of Thursday's visit, Johnson's campaign spokesman Joe Hunter clarified the candidate's local D.C. record. The Democrats and GOP may have disappointing positions on D.C. statehood, but Johnson is in favor of "full voting representation in Congress," he says. "Obviously, statehood would provide that representation." Hunter says that Johnson is also in favor of D.C. budget autonomy.

Unlike Virgil Goode's candidacy in Virginia, which will appeal almost exclusively to the far right, Johnson has the capacity to appeal to likely-Democratic voters -- he wants to legalize marijuana, supports marriage equality, and takes a Ron Paul-like approach to foreign wars.
Still, Johnson seems to be rattling Republicans' nerves a lot more than Democrats'. The Libertarian doesn't have much money, and will almost certainly fail to reach more than a few points in any state, but in an exceedingly close contest, his tallies will be worth keeping an eye on.

By all accounts — or at least all the accounts that are actually worth listening to — this election looks like it might be heading for a photo finish. Hopefully, it'll be a Polaroid photo and not something we'll have to send that photo off to Congress of the Supreme Court for developing.
With that in mind, there is very little room for mistakes from here on out. From either candidate. Romney got to make all his his mistakes over the course of the last 15 months, and Obama hurried up and crammed them all into one abysmal debate. So, that's it. No more. One candidate stubs his toe on camera, and it's all over.
