AFPNH - Maggie Hassan is "Open" to Higher Taxes

We recently released another statewide radio ad aimed at educating NH voters on Maggie Hassan’s “openness” to higher taxesCLICK HERE to learn more and listen to the ad.

One of our other radio ads detailing Hassan’s pride in sponsoring the RGGI tax that increased NH electricity rates has been in the news as well due to NHPR’s removal of the word “tax” from Hassan’s statement during a rebroadcast of the original debate. You can read more about it HERE.

Secondly, our doorhangers detailing Carol Shea-Porter and Ann McLane Kuster’s anti-prosperity positions have arrived! Please stop by our Manchester office to pick up some for your neighborhood.

The office is located at 530 Chestnut Street.

If you cannot make it to the office, please email Matt Ciepielowski or call him at 504-228-2272 and he can deliver them to you.

Third, the AFP Obama’s Failing Agenda Bus Tour will be returning to NH on October 29 and October 30! We are currently planning several stops across the state. Stay tuned for more details! In the meantime, you can visit THIS SITE to learn more about the tour.

Fourth, state agencies recently submitted their requests for the next budget. The Public Utilities Commission projected in their request that the failed Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) will generate $45 million in sales despite the fact that in FY 2012 the RGGI auctions brought in under $2 million and are projected to generate $5.7 million this year.

We believe this is a lot of hot air and continue to call for NH to remove itself from this failed cap-and-trade program. You can read more about it HERE.

Finally, as you may have read, the Local Government Center has announced that it will return $22.5 million in surplus funds to its members. However, many are arguing the move is too little too late and does not resolve the order issued in August that the LGC return $52 million in improperly retained funds. You can read more about it HERE.

Sincerely,
