DNC - NH Obama Campaign to Launch "Around the Clock for Barack"
Friday, October 19, 2012 at 06:44AM Today the New Hampshire Obama Campaign Launches the “Around the Clock for Barack: the 24 Hour Tour for the Middle Class”
5.2 Million Jobs, 18 Small Business Tax Cuts, 16 Stops, 10 Counties, 1 RV, Zero Sleep
Manchester – On Thursday, October 18, 2012, after President Obama campaigns in Manchester, the New Hampshire Obama campaign will launch its “Around the Clock for Barack: the 24 Hour Tour for the Middle Class,” during which Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie, Massachusetts Auditor Suzanne Bump, Delaware Governor Jack Markell, former Congressman Paul Hodes, Newton, Mass. Mayor Setti Warren, Manchester Alderman Garth Corriveau and former Mass. Treasurer Shannon O’Brien will board an RV and make campaign stops for a full consecutive 24 hours in all 10 of New Hampshire’s counties. A full list of the tour stops is below.
The 24 hours of consecutive campaigning will kick off in Concord at a phone bank at 5:00 pm on Thursday, following President Obama’s grassroots event in New Hampshire that morning. Stops overnight will include New Hampshire campuses and diners, followed by a full day of campaigning on Friday, with the final campaign stop at a phone bank in Manchester at 5:00 pm.
“In the final stretch, the Obama campaign isn’t resting - just like Granite State workers never do,” said Holly Shulman, spokeswoman for the Obama campaign in New Hampshire. “Granite Staters know that work is much more than a paycheck and that the middle class is strong when responsibility and hard work are rewarded. This 24 hour tour will highlight the contributions made to our community by Granite Staters from all walks of life at all hours.”
Granite Staters will be campaigning all night for President Obama and his vision to build an economy from the middle class out, because for four years he’s been working non-stop for us.
“Around the Clock for Barack: the 24 Hour Tour for the Middle Class” is part of a push to get voters to the polls to elect President Barack Obama and other Democrats across the state and comes one day before the campaign’s Get Out the Vote effort begins on October 20th, kicking into high gear the largest grassroots campaign in history.
From Claremont to Conway and Pittsburg to Pelham, volunteers are talking to their neighbors about President Obama’s vision for an economy built to last, because they know how much is at stake. We’re asking supporters to start by doing one thing to help grow our campaign – from getting one new voter to register, to recruiting one more volunteer, to bringing one more friend to the next campaign event. This election could come down to just a few votes in a single state, and even one conversation could make the difference between moving forward and falling backward.
Members of the media are invited to come along on the full 24 hour tour or a portion thereof (email press@ofanh.com to work out logistics) or follow online on Twitter (#NH24Obama and @ofa_nh) or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ofa.nh.
