THIRD TIME’S A CHARM: CAROL SHEA-PORTER’S “TEAM’S” NEWEST AD RATED “MOSTLY FALSE” BY POLITIFACT
“There’s not a single television ad that Carol Shea-Porter has run this election cycle that hasn’t been called false or a flat out lie from New Hampshire and national fact checking organizations.”
(Manchester – October 19, 2012) Another day, another television ad by former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter and her “team” being called “Mostly False” by Politifact. For weeks, Carol Shea-Porter has been running a campaign full of lies and distortions. Today was yet another example of that when the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s newest TV ad attacking Frank Guinta was rated “Mostly False” by Nashua Telegraph’s Poltifact.
This is the third such ad that either lies or distorts the record of Congressman Guinta from Carol Shea-Porter and her “team” as her campaign manager recently called the DCCC. Nashua Telegraph’s Politifact called Shea-Porter’s first ad where she lies about Frank Guinta’s record on veterans’ issues “a distortion” of his record. In Shea-Porter’s second ad, her claim that Frank Guinta would “end Medicare” was called the “lie of the year” by Factcheck.org.
Derek Dufresne, Spokesman for Guinta for Congress released the following statement:
“It’s too bad that since former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter can’t run on her own failed record, she has resorted to lying and distorting Frank Guinta’s accomplishments at every turn.
“There’s not a single television ad that Carol Shea-Porter has run this election cycle that hasn’t been called false or a flat out lie from New Hampshire and national fact checking organizations. With 18 days until Election Day, the question is this: how many more times will the former Congresswoman and her ‘team’ be called out for a campaign that’s been riddled with lies and distortions?”
