Bass Receives Endorsement of NH State Association of Letter Carriers

Concord, NH - In recognition of Charlie Bass’s strong record of support for postal workers, and the U.S. Postal Service, the New Hampshire State Association of Letter Carriers has endorsed Bass’s campaign for Congress in New Hampshire’s 2nd District.  The New Hampshire State Association of Letter Carriers represents local letter carriers throughout the state.

The President of the Association, Wayne G. Alterisio, announced the endorsement in a letter and noted that Charlie Bass has a record of commitment to legislation that would make the Postal Service, and the funding of the Service’s retiree pension plan sustainable.

“Because of your unwavering commitment as a co-sponsor of HR 1351, it has been determined by our legislative department that you receive the letter carrier endorsement as candidate for Congressional District 2 in New Hampshire for 2012” stated Alterisio.

Upon receiving the endorsement Charlie Bass said, “I am very grateful for the support of the New Hampshire State Association of Letter Carriers.  These hardworking public servants do so much for the people of New Hampshire, and they deserve our support.  I am committed to working with them to ensure our postal system can overcome the challenges it faces and ensure the U.S. Postal Service remains a vital and strong organization.”

Earlier in the year, Congressman Bass kicked off the 113th Annual New Hampshire Letter Carrier Convention in Bartlett, NH.

Dear Congressman Bass,

First I want to thank you for attending and kicking off our 113th annual New Hampshire letter carrier convention in Barlett, New Hampshire last June.  It was much appreciated and your commitment and caring concerning letter carrier and Postal issues was well received.  My national president Fred Rolando was scheduled to attend but had a family emergency and his Chief of Staff, Jim Suaber was in attendance instead.

His conversation with you after you spoke to our members was very positive.  You have committed to saving the Postal Service as evidenced by your co-sponsorship of HR 1351 which addresses the over funding of our retiree pension plan.  That is the root of the Postal Services financial burden and you recognize that.  Many thanks.

Because of your unwavering commitment as a co-sponsor of H. R. 1351 it has been determined by our legislative department that you receive the letter carrier endorsement as candidate for Congressional District 2 in New Hampshire for 2012 and it was so noted in our national publication, The Postal Record.  We look forward to your support and let it be noted that we support you.
