Maggie Hassan to visit Nashua, Manchester, Seacoast Area this Weekend

MANCHESTER – This weekend, Democratic candidate for Governor Maggie Hassan will meet voters around the state, attend a rally with President Obama in Nashua, and participate in a health care forum in Portsmouth.

Hassan will begin her day on Saturday with a breakfast tour of several Manchester restaurants, including Chez Vachon, Blake’s, Red Arrow and Bride St. Café.  In the afternoon, she will attend a campaign rally with President Obama and singer/songwriter James Taylor at Elm Street Middle School in Nashua.  Hassan will stay in Nashua and visit the Huntington Retirement Home to meet with community members later in the afternoon, then travel to Manchester for the Early Bird Dinner at the American Legion Sweeney Post.

Hassan will speak on Sunday at the New Hampshire Medical Society / St. Anselm’s Health Care Forum in Portsmouth, outlining her support for protecting Medicare from the Tea Party’s plan for a state takeover and discussing her support for accepting federal funding to expand New Hampshire’s Medicaid program to provide more children and families with quality, affordable health care coverage.  Later, Maggie will address the Governor’s Commission on Latino Affairs in Manchester.  In the evening, Hassan will greet guests at former state House Democratic Leader Chris Spirou’s birthday celebration in Manchester, before traveling to New Castle to attend the Peterson Awards Dinner.
